It is incredibly annoying being a young woman in the work force.
The men solely pay attention to the older women because they assume they are the only ones who know anything and that the younger ones are ignorant and ill-equipped to deal with the technicalities of the work. They barely look at us when we are talking, but the ladies with the greying hair are fawned over like they are something novel – we will be that way soon enough! Those ladies in their high-riding skirts with stockings sagging around the ankles are the first to receive offers of help with last minute projects or even basic errands, while us young girls in our smart suits and bright lipsticks are left to fend for ourselves.
It is such a bore being young and attractive.
We gather by the water cooler, our own little club, and talk of how things will be better for us in the future.
